STORY
Kailashpati (Utpal Dutt) is an Anglophobe on his look-out for a girl to marry his son off to. Only since he has had several unpleasant experiences with English-speaking girls, he insists that his son Ramesh (Farooque Shaikh) marry a village girl with sufficient knowledge of India’s cultural heritage. But there is a hitch. Ramesh is in love with Ramola (Deepti Naval), a doctor who hardly satisfied Kailashpati’s astringent requirements. How Ramola is passed off to Kailashpati as a girl worthy of being his daughter-in-law forms the substance of this film.
