A LITTLE birdie, interested in art, gives us this tidbit.
Talented actress Deepti Naval has turned her skill to brush and canvas,
and is displaying her paintings at the Jehangir Art Gallery from August
10.
Which is highly commendable. Says an art aficionado, “She
has a lot of talent, and might do well, if she doesn’t cash in on
being Deepti Naval.” Her style, apparently, leans heavily on Tagoresque
strokes.
About 40 paintings will be on display, painted over a period
of time. ‘Smita & I’, a painting of two women should excite
some interest, as should a couple of landscapes.
But by far the most exciting, and, says our chirping friend, “spectacular”
is a painting of a pregnant nun. Sure to cause a lot of controversy, Naval
apparently had a very novel theory for her painting.
