DEEPTI Naval might be one of our more gifted actresses, but she certainly didn’t want to waste her time or talent on the kind of mother-Bhabhi roles that were coming her way in Bollywood.

So she gave her creativity new expression. An exhibition of paintings, fairly well-received, a couple of years ago. A book of poems published and another one on its way – she read her work out at a mushaira with other well-known poets in Mumbai last week.

Now, Naval’s in Delhi, inaugurating an exhibition of photographs – taken by her. An inveterate traveler, Naval takes her sketch pad, notebook and camera wherever she goes. The results, as the accompanying photograph shows, are more than good.
