Deepti Naval who was in hibernation after her acclaimed performances in films like Leela and Freaky Chakra has resurfaced as the author of a book of poems called Black Wind And Other Poems, with foreword by Gulzar. Corner Bookstore hosted the launch of the book in association with Mapin Publishing Private Limited. Writer-director Gulzar unveiled the book in the presence of Manisha Koirala, Nethra Raghuraman, Mona Ambegaonkar and Sarika. Naseeruddin Shah introduced the author articulately and read out a couple of verses from the book along with Deepti. Says Deepti, “These poems in Black Wind belong to a particular phase of my life during 1990-1995. Now that time has gone by and I have moved away from it, I am able to look back and say, yes, I lived and sent through this.”
